Bas Hargrove is a senior policy representative who has worked in the Conservancy's Boise office since 2000. His work focuses on securing funding for chapter conservation projects, improving public policy and agency programs, and building a stronger constituency for conservation issues.
Bas also leads the chapter’s Grants Work Group, serves on the Idaho Invasive Species Council, lobbies for the Farm Bill and leads the Conservancy’s Grassland Conservation Network. He earned a bachelor’s degree in English from Duke University in 1991 and a master’s degree in environmental science from the University of Idaho in 1997.
Bas’s wife Syrena is the Civil Chief for the U.S. Attorney for Idaho. Bas and Syrena have two school-age kids and love getting them outdoors whenever possible.
