This preserve is home to grassy sandstone barrens with many rare plants, including rose gentian, longleaf sunflower, Green pitcher plant, Harper's love-vine and Little River Canyon onion.

Location
On top of Sand Mountain in DeKalb County, west of Fort Payne in north Alabama

53 acres

Why the Conservancy Selected This Site
The site was originally protected to preserve the green pitcher plant (sarracenia oreophila).

What the Conservancy is Doing
Our strategies for this preserve include prescribed burning, exotic species control and monitoring of species.
