Voluntary family planning resources—brought to her community from TNC partner Communities Health Africa Trust—gave her greater control over the health of her body, her family, and her surrounding landscape. 
Johnson Soit: Breaking Down Barriers to Conservation Johnson Soit is a teacher and chairman of the Pardamat Conservation Area Board in Kenya. With operational support from TNC and USAID, 15,000 landowners in this region are earning an income by leasing their land and creating unfenced areas for wildlife, tourism, and livestock. 
Amina Ahmed: Patience Pays off on Kenya's Coast A group of fisherwomen took a big leap of faith: They closed off an octopus fishery — a critical source of food and income — for four months. They results showed promise for healthier communities and marine ecosystems. 
Irene Mumiria: Inspiring Farmers in Kenya Meet Irene. The Nairobi Water Fund showed her how rainwater collection and terracing could help with irrigation and preventing soil erosion, and her farming improved drastically.
