Achieving our mission to conserve the lands and waters on which all life depends would not be possible without the efforts of our volunteers. Whether assisting with conservation work in the field or public outreach, wildlife monitoring or social media communications, our volunteers are an integral component of the work we do.

We invite you to turn your passion into action by volunteering at one of our Florida preserves, or find a remote position where you can work from anywhere. Search our available volunteer listings below to get started.

You can also browse our one-time volunteer opportunities that are offered frequently at our preserves.

The Indigo Snake Watch project on the Zooniverse platform, organized by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and in partnership with The Central Florida Zoo, is focused on improving our understanding of the reintroduced snakes’ activity and distribution and gives volunteers a chance to make a difference in the conservation of North America’s largest native snake species.  Trail cameras throughout the Apalachicola Bluffs and Ravines Preserve collect photos and the images are uploaded to our Indigo Snake Watch Zooniverse project, where anyone can classify photos. Just follow the link, create a free account and start identifying the wildlife in the photos from your own home.
