The Nature Conservancy was born with the purchase of Mianus River Gorge Preserve in 1955 right here in New York. Since then, we have conserved more than 815,000 acres across the state. We continue to be a conservation leader and are proud to have been the first state program to establish comprehensive programs for fresh water, oceans and cities.
We are grateful of the support of our New York member base, which has grown to more than 90,000. With your help, the Conservancy is implementing solutions to the most urgent challenges of our time in New York and around the world.
