As ambassadors for nature, our volunteers help us achieve of our mission of conserving the lands and waters on which all life depends.
Please note, our program is a transition phase. Responses to inquiries may be slower than normal. Thank you
Central/Western MA: With offices in Northampton and Great Barrington, plus many preserves in this part of the state, TNC often seeks volunteer stewards, office support, or special projects as needed. If you are interested in getting involved in this area, please complete the volunteer application and email it to Rene Wendell, Land Steward.
Martha’s Vineyard: Our conservation efforts on the island focus mainly on stewardship, but with an office and a field house to manage we also appreciate volunteer support on a variety of projects. If our work on MV interests you, please email your volunteer application to Mike Whittemore, Land Steward.
Boston: The flagship office in Massachusetts is located in beautiful, downtown Boston. It hosts staff from a wide variety of departments including operations, fundraising, government relations, legal, marketing, and conservation science. If working with our Boston-based staff interests you, please complete the volunteer application and email it to our MA Address.
Internships: Massachusetts staff have long engaged interns in all aspects of our work. Students bring a strong work ethic, new perspectives, and positive energy that is greatly appreciated by TNC staff. We hope to continue engaging the next generation of conservation leaders through well-rounded internship opportunities. If you are interested, please email your resume to our MA Address.
Unfortunately, our volunteer opportunities are limited to the areas of the Commonwealth in which we work, as listed above.
