The Arts Council of Indianapolis and The Nature Conservancy have partnered to present Indiana, Naturally, a juried exhibition of Indiana nature photography. Through a partnership with the Indianapolis International Airport, Indiana, Naturally is on display through March 19, 2017.

A companion exhibition of Indiana nature photography by children ages 5-12 will be on view at the Arts Council’s Indianapolis Artsgarden from January 2-23, 2017.

The Indianapolis International Airport is hosting the exhibition of 43 artworks by 22 artists, including youth ages 13-17, who are featuring their most evocative photographs of Indiana plant life, wildlife in natural habitat, landscapes, and creative photographic interpretations of nature.

For the Indianapolis Artsgarden exhibition, 20 images by Indiana children also display plant life, wildlife, and landscapes, plus a special category of “The World from Down Here: Soil Up Close.” This last category encouraged children to get physically close to nature for some face-to-face observation.

“The Nature Conservancy is once again thrilled to be a part of this photo exhibition,” said Mary McConnell, State Director for the Conservancy in Indiana. “Indiana, Naturally is a fitting way to show off so many of the amazing natural places in our state. It’s also a great way to celebrate a major achievement for our chapter.” McConnell noted that during the run of the photo exhibition, the Conservancy expects to complete its goal of helping to protect 100,000 acres in Indiana.
