Help Keep Black Bears In The Woods

The Nature Conservancy continues to protect critical connected lands including the woods in which Florida black bears and other wildlife thrive. Bears that live along the borders between the woods and our communities are attracted to our yards by food sources and unsecured trash, sometimes resulting in dangerous interactions for both people and bears.

The simplest and most effective way to reduce human-bear conflicts is to keep food sources and trash secured with bear-proof garbage cans.

The challenge is to create a source for funding to support the nearly 1.3 million households in black bear country that would quickly benefit from using bear proof trash cans.

You can help communities prevent negative interactions with bears. Donate today.
