Rock to Rock 2012

New Haven's largest Earth Day celebration was a day to enjoy great friends, terrific food from entertaining chefs and the great outdoors.

John Levinson, board president of The Nature Conservancy in Connecticut, celebrates the end of the ride with Ct. Department of Energy and Environmental Protection Commissioner Daniel Esty and Conservancy State Director Frogard Ryan.

Our tent at the end of the Rock to Rock: 2012 Earth Day Ride!

Great day for a ride.

It was hard not to admire our two sweepstakes baskets, which were created in honor of chefs Jason Sobocinski and Bun Lai.

Ruh-roh. Looks like the battle is heating up between chefs Bun Lai and Jason Sobocinski.

Team captain Todd with his reason for riding.

Our three judges for ‘Chef to Chef: Picnic Battle for the Planet’: Frogard Ryan, state director for The Nature Conservancy in Connecticut; Cristina Chang- Bryant, culinary director at Delia, the Viking Center of New England; and Wayne Kirsten, Food and Beverage Director of the Omni Hotel.

Emcee Stephen Fries, master of ceremonies.

And they're off!

Getting some help from the next generation.

Add a little bit of this and a little bit of that.

Bun's dish.

Jason's dish - modified sushi!

Light fare and a light bike!

Riders gear up for the big ride.

Even our state director, Frogard Ryan, got in a few miles.

What a fine ride it was!

Yay Earth Day!

We think he liked it!
