Brigadier General David Harris: Restoration is Good Business

Environmental programs protect Gulf resources within the Eglin Test and Training Range.

Business and community leaders in the Gulf clearly recognize the important link between a healthy environment and a thriving, resilient economy. Here is one example of a leader working to make a difference in the Gulf.

Brigadier General David Harris is the Commander of the 96th Test Wing at Eglin Air Force Base, located in the Florida Panhandle.

"The eastern portion of the Gulf of Mexico is home to the Eglin Test and Training Range. It is an area designated for and unsurpassed in supporting the training of aircrew and the testing of new aircraft systems and long-range weapons. Our military operates safely in this expansive range."

"Eglin's renowned environmental programs are committed to protecting this natural resource to ensure the continued operation of the most important DoD range capability in the world."
