What We Do
These waters, chilled from Arctic currents and rich with plankton, set the stage for one of the most productive fishing grounds on Earth—one that supports us—providing food for our tables and jobs for our neighbors.
By restoring spawning habitat made inaccessible by the construction of dams, roads, and other barriers, we are reversing the decline of these important fish populations.
Shellfish beds, salt marshes, eelgrass beds and coastal creeks provide nurseries for fish, feeding grounds for shorebirds and a more stable shoreline for millions of people.
