Living Beneath the Shell...

Turtles (along with tortoises) are one of the oldest living reptiles on earth. Turtles are known for its distinctive hard shell, which protects its soft body from predators and the elements. There are about 300 species alive today, living on land, in freshwater and in the ocean.
