The Nature Conservancy commends the California legislature for introducing a comprehensive and well-funded climate resilience budget package. The proposed budget supports critical investments to address our drought, promote wildfire resilience and also includes important funding to support land conservation which protects our water and captures carbon. These climate investments are absolutely critical to the resilience of our state and planet and will result in both the near and long term protection of people and nature. We hope to see these essential investments in the final 2021-2022 state budget.
