Frances experiences sunrise at Attic Window after camping on Grandfather Mountain ridge.

Ethan,
Thanks, I’m honored to be included in the running.
Here’s the info you requested:

Grandfather Mountain Sunrise
The photographer’s wife Frances takes in sunrise from the Attic Window peak on Grandfather Mountain, North Carolina.
Through the combined efforts of The Nature Conservancy, the state of North Carolina, and the owners of Grandfather Mountain, Inc. Grandfather Mountain State Park was established in 2009 to preserve and protect Grandfather, one of the highest peaks in the Blue Ridge Mountains and one of the oldest mountains in North America. Grandfather Mountain is home to a wide variety of rare plants and animals and offers some of the most rugged and spectacular hiking in the eastern US.

This image is a two exposure HDR merge. One exposure for the sunrise sky and one for the rocky foreground. I cropped the merged HDR image to a panorama format to eliminate some bland sky and rock at top and bottom.

Because of email size restrictions I am sending each of the 2 RAW files and the hi-res JPEG as attachments to separate emails.

Thanks,
Jim
