Volunteer Overview

The Nature Conservancy is seeking volunteers to help us maintain the 33,000-acre Zumwalt Prairie Preserve, home to nesting raptors, expansive grasslands, large elk herds, and spectacular views of the Wallowa and Seven Devils Mountain ranges.

Volunteers will assist with stewardship projects, which may include fence repair/removal, facility maintenance, and cleaning. Volunteers must be able to work/walk for several hours on uneven prairie terrain and be comfortable bending and kneeling for extended periods of time. We’ll work a full day on Saturday and a half day on Sunday.

Everyone is invited to camp on the preserve Friday and Saturday nights.
