Volunteer Overview

Volunteer your time and join steward, Sophie Linden and birder and naturalist Charlie Quinn for a tour of the Willow Creek Preserve, to make observations of birds and support the City Nature Challenge in Lane County!

The City Nature Challenge is an international BioBlitz where volunteers contribute their time and expertise by making observations and identifications of plants, animals and fungi in their communities. This event aims to enhance the data available on the iNaturalist app, particularly focusing on the wildlife that frequents Willow Creek Preserve.

Willow Creek’s native grasslands, ash woodlands and perennial streams provide the best remaining example of native wet prairie habitats in the southern Willamette Valley.  This habitat provides important habitat for migratory birds.
