From native plant strewardship and trail maintenance to education and outreach, there are so many ways to get involved as a volunteer with The Nature Conservancy in Ohio. Whether you're a student, retiree or working professional, we have a role that will fit your skills and schedule.
In addition to helping preserve the natural environment, volunteering with our program provides a chance to connect with like-minded individuals, learn new skills and gain a deeper understanding and appreciation of the natural world. If you're ready to make a difference and give back to the community, we encourage you to contact us today to become a volunteer. Thank you for your interest in supporting our goal to protect and preserve nature for people and wildlife.
Volunteer Opportunities
Tree Planting
Once dominated by forests, Ohio’s landscape has been heavily altered since colonization. Volunteers can help restore the beauty and bounty of our forests and protect the integrity of wildlife habitat through planting trees at the Edge of Appalachia Preserve. Flexible schedule.
Native Plant Stewardship
Nuisance plants threaten Ohio’s natural areas by displacing native plants, degrading wildlife habitat and increasing erosion and siltation in streams. Volunteers can help TNC remove these plants from Edge of Appalachia Preserve. Year round, flexible schedule.
Trail Maintenance
Trail maintenance is essential in keeping preserves neat and natural so they can continue to be a source of pride for the community and a refuge for rare plants and animals. Volunteers can help TNC with routine trail upkeep like removing debris. Year round, flexible schedule.
