Help us protect Ohio's natural areas by joining us at a volunteer event at Big Darby Headwaters Nature Preserve this year. The success of our program relies on the support of volunteers, and with your help we can accomplish so much more than we could alone.
Tree Seeding Stewardship
Healthy trees are the foundation of healthy forests. Volunteers will help steward newly planted tree seedlings by securing protection tubes, watering and mulching.
Event Dates
Saturday, March 18, 2023 (10 a.m.-2 p.m.)
Saturday, June 10, 2023 (10 a.m.-2 p.m.)
Saturday, August 12, 2023 (10 a.m.-2 p.m.)
Tree Planting
Trees improve our air, water and soil quality while creating critical habitat for a rich diversity of wildlife. Volunteers will help reforest areas of Big Darby Headwaters by planting tree seedlings at the nature preserve, which will help create a healthier ecosystem for all.
Event Dates
Saturday, April 15, 2023 (2-4 p.m.)
Invasive Plant Removal
Invasive plants are one of the greatest threats to our conservation mission because they can displace native plants, degrade wildlife habitat and increase erosion and siltation in streams. Volunteers will help remove these plants to ensure native plant communities and wildlife can thrive.
Event Dates
Saturday, May 13, 2023 (10 a.m.-2 p.m.)
Volunteers should come prepared with sturdy hiking boots and durable pants for off trail areas with thorny plants. To RSVP or receive additional event details, email ohvolunteer@tnc.org and include the event date and location in the subject line to reserve your spot in these fun events.
See individual event dates for times.
