Restoration Workdays
We are looking for volunteers to join TNC staff and trustees for a day (or more!) of restoration work at Tannersville Cranberry Bog.
What to expect
- A lot of walking, water and mud
- Pulling and cutting back of plant species
- Clearing the boardwalk trail by carrying debris
- Port-a-jon facility available in the parking lot
What to bring
- Warm clothes you don’t mind getting dirty
- Rubber boots or hip waders
- Water bottle: extra water will be available to fill up
- Pack a lunch
- Loppers (a few extras are available)
- Change of clothes
- * Ear Protection (earmuff or foam ear plugs)
- *Eye Protection (sunglasses or safety goggles)
- *Thick leather work gloves
*Can be provided if needed.
All other equipment will be provided.
Please note that poison sumac is prevalent in the bog.
