Volunteer Overview

Restoration Workdays

We are looking for volunteers to join TNC staff and trustees for a day (or more!) of restoration work at Tannersville Cranberry Bog. 

What to expect

  • A lot of walking, water and mud
  • Pulling and cutting back of plant species
  • Clearing the boardwalk trail by carrying debris
  • Port-a-jon facility available in the parking lot

What to bring

  • Warm clothes you don’t mind getting dirty
  • Rubber boots or hip waders
  • Water bottle: extra water will be available to fill up
  • Pack a lunch
  • Loppers (a few extras are available)
  • Change of clothes
  • * Ear Protection (earmuff or foam ear plugs)
  • *Eye Protection (sunglasses or safety goggles)
  • *Thick leather work gloves

*Can be provided if needed.
All other equipment will be provided.

Please note that poison sumac is prevalent in the bog.
