Volunteer Overview

Join us for a day of volunteering at Cogswell Foster on Saturday, May 25, 2024! Volunteers will be working together to remove wire fencing (woven and barbed). All wire will be stomped down and put in a truck to be recycled.

This event is open to those 18 and older. If you are interested in joining, please email orvolunteers@tnc.org to register.

  • Bring/Wear: Sturdy hiking boots suitable for mud and long sleeve shirts and pants to reduce risk from poison oak and sun exposure. Tools, including gloves and protective goggles or safety glasses will be provided, but you are welcomed and encouraged to bring your own diagonal cutting pliers, claw hammers, leather gloves, and protective eyewear. Make sure to pack water and food for the day.

Please Note: There is poison oak on the property. We will be going over how to identify it and will have Tecnu soap to help anyone clean a potential exposure. There is no bathroom on the property, so make sure to make a stop before arriving.
