Walnut Spring Canyon Hike


Ready for some adventure? Don’t miss this rare opportunity to explore the incredible canyon on the east side of Pontotoc Ridge Preserve. 

The first leg will be hiking on fairly level terrain through the oak /hickory woodlands and limestone outcrops before we reach the canyon.  Further east, the hike will become more arduous.  Once we reach the canyon, we’ll hike down and through the walnut spring area. We’ll explore the unique shrubland communities, streamside beauty and travertine falls. 

Portions of the hike will be on un-maintained paths.  Please wear long pants, suitable footwear, and bring lunch, snacks, water, and insect repellant.Please arrive at the Pontotoc Stewardship Building at 8:45 for check in.
