Conservation efforts are often as dynamic as the ecological systems they seek to protect. Join us on the trail at our Black Mountain Natural Area as we weave together a story of protection and place.
Black Mountain is one of Vermont’s most fascinating landscapes, but it wasn’t always guaranteed protection. This 4-mile out-and-back journey will guide visitors through the decades-long effort to safeguard the property as a whole, highlighting its unique features and The Nature Conservancy’s evolving approaches to conserving them in the face of future uncertainties. Attendees should be comfortable hiking long distances with significant elevation change. Please bring a lunch and comfortable footwear in which to hike.
