Independent Watershed Cleanup

Virginia

A narrow urban creek opens into a wide pool of still water that reflects blue sky and puffy white clouds. In the distance volunteers carry orange trash bags during an Earth Day cleanup event.

Join The Nature Conservancy to help clean up your watershed!

Gather your own "quaran-team" for independent cleanup to help remove plastic bottles, cans and other debris from creeks and streams near your home to prevent the trash from reaching the nation’s largest estuary, the Chesapeake Bay!

Gloves and trash bags will be available for pickup on Friday, April 30, 2021. Volunteers must read and sign our COVID field guidelines and health screening questions. Guidelines include having a mask readily accessible if working less than 6' apart, bringing hand sanitizer and confirming you have health insurance.
