City Nature Challenge: The Wasatch

Utah

Take part in an international quest to record urban nature! Cities across the world are competing to document their urban nature between April 26 and April 29 in the City Nature Challenge 2019.

Join the Natural History Museum of Utah on the Wasatch Front for a City Nature Challenge biobltiz. All the observations you make using the iNaturalist app will count toward the City Nature Challenge and help guide the management of the wetland preserve.

On Saturday, April 27th from 9 a.m. to noon, at the visitor center of the Great Salt Lake Shorelands Preserve, naturalists of all ages and experience levels are invited to come together to observe and identify the plants and animals that live in this diverse and wild area. You can even compete for individual and team prizes!

Specialists will be there to help you observe and identify trees, bugs, birds, and more. Learn how to make great observations, sharpen your identification skills, and contribute to a worthy team event. Learn how to use iNaturalist to record and share our rich local biodiversity!

Whether you're a budding biologist or an obsessive ornithologist, young or old, we need your help to document the surprising flora and fauna found along the Wasatch Range.
