Saw whet Owl Banding

The northern saw-whet owl, one of the cutest owls in North America, can be found in dense thickets or conifers. Join us at the Hauser Nature Center to learn about the amazing migration of our smallest owl as well as watch the banding process of these spectacular birds.

Owls are wild animals and their capture and banding on any night is not guaranteed.

This free event is best for ages 12 and up. Registration for our events is required in order to communicate about unexpected changes. Contact Jenny Case to register for this free event. Directions and additional information will be provided upon event registration. Please arrive and check in 15 minutes prior to the event.

Note: while most of our events are free, please consider donating $5, per person, to support this and future events.
