Plant Trees at Baxter's Hollow

Come celebrate Earth Day by getting your hands dirty and planting trees! Your work will help reforest the Nature Conservancy preserves in this unique landscape of bluffs and forests.

For this work party, volunteers will plant trees to fill in an old farm field on the east side of Baxter's Hollow Preserve. We'll be planting oak seedlings by hand. This is a fun activity for all ages, with no experience needed. Meet at the planting site near the end of Groth Road at 9 am, and we'll work until 12:30 or 1 pm before enjoying some hard-earned snacks.

Work Party Leaders: For more information, driving directions, or to RSVP, contact Sherren Clark, (608-225-2974 / sclark99@outlook.com), or Karina Cardella (608-819-0576 / karina.cardella@tnc.org).

What to Bring: Dress for the weather and wear long pants and work gloves if you have them. Bring water.

Directions: From Sauk City, take Highway 12 west to Kings Corner Road, which is about 0.6 mile past the main entrance to the Badger Army Ammunition Plant. Turn left on Kings Corner Road, then right on New Haven Road, then left on Groth Road. From Baraboo, take Highway 12 south to Groth Road and turn right on Groth. Follow Groth Road and look for TNC signs marking the parking area for planting.
