Earth Day Independent Cleanups
April 17 - 25, 2021
Celebrate Earth Day with Heritage Conservancy, TNC and Pennsylvania Department of Conservation & Natural Resources (DCNR) by gathering your own "quaran-team" and conducting an independent cleanup.
Organize a small group of your choice and pick-up trash on any date between April 17 and April 25, 2021. You may select a location close to your home or office or pick one of our suggested properties and receive a map with property details.
Pre-registration is required for this event. Contact Liz Barmach at firstname.lastname@example.org or 215-345-7020 x105 with questions or for more information.
All participants must comply with CDC, state and local COVID-19 precautions designed to reduce the spread of the virus including, but not limited to, wearing a face mask, practicing social distancing and following proper hand hygiene protocols.
City Nature Challenge
April 30 - May 3, 2021
The City Nature Challenge (CNC) is an international citizen science effort to discover and document plants and wildlife in cities across the globe. The observation period of CNC 2021 will take place April 30 - May 3.
It’s easy to get involved using the iNaturalist app (free on the app store). Just take a picture of a plant or animal and upload it to the app. Explore your neighborhood parks—or even your own backyard. There's nature all around you!
Help us learn more about the plants and animals at our preserves! iNaturalist projects are set up at 15 of our preserves in Pennsylvania and Delaware, and we need your help recording observations of the species found there. Email Molly Anderson, volunteer program manager, at email@example.com to sign up or learn more.
Take a virtual field trip or explore nature-themed lessons and family fun activities. Our youth curriculum is designed for students ages 5-11, 11-14, and 14-18.
