Resilient Islands: Bracing for Impact

Resilient Islands: Bracing for Impact

Though the islands of the Caribbean are among the lowest contributors to global carbon emissions, the region regularly faces one of the worst consequences of climate change—more frequent and intense hurricanes. Preparing for, responding to, and recovering from catastrophic storms is a way of life that the diverse people of the Caribbean all share, now more than ever as these events increase.

“Resilient Islands: Bracing for Impact” takes place virtually on Wednesday, October 28th from 5:00-6:00pm EDT. Tune in to learn how nature-based solutions and innovative partnerships are fortifying and empowering local communities with The Nature Conservancy in the Caribbean’s Director of External Affairs, Eleanor Phillips; Grenada Conservation Practitioner, Nealla Frederick; St. Croix Conservation Practitioner, Lisa Terry; and Nature Conservancy partner, Kevin Douglas from the Jamaica Red Cross.
