Eel Monitoring at Lubberland Creek

New Hampshire

Celebrate World Fish Migration Day with your hands in the water!

Join TNC and Nature Groupie for our annual eel monitoring event at Lubberland Creek Preserve. We will be capturing and counting juvenile American eels, also known as "elvers," as they migrate upstream with the incoming tide. Volunteers will learn about the life cycle of American eels and what The Nature Conservancy is doing to protect our waterways in the Seacoast area.

What to bring

Volunteers should dress appropriately for weather conditions and wear closed-toed athletic shoes.

Youth Instructions

Youth volunteers are welcome as long as they are accompanied by a parent or guardian.
