Brought to you by The Nature Conservancy and Riverbanks Zoo
Join The Nature Conservancy of South Carolina and Riverbanks Zoo for a one-night exclusive photo presentation and talk with National Geographic photographer Joel Sartore. Experience Sartore’s rich stories and hallmark sense of humor during a feature presentation of the National Geographic Photo Ark. Begun 13 years ago in Sartore’s hometown of Lincoln, Neb., the National Geographic Photo Ark is one man’s journey to document all species living in the world’s zoos and wildlife sanctuaries in close-up, colorful, soulful and humorous detail.
Gates open at 5:30 p.m. for all ticket holders to join us for a light reception with cash bar and a special appearance by zoo animals. Sartore’s photo presentation and talk will take place from 6:30–7:30 p.m. and be followed by Q&A.
From 7:30-9pm we will have a special VIP meet and greet party with Joel Sartore and event sponsors. A limited number of party tickets are available for purchase.
About the National Geographic Photo Ark
If there is one message founder and photographer Joel Sartore wants you to take away from his National Geographic Photo Ark, it’s this: There is still time.
“It’s the eye contact that moves people,” Sartore says of his species portraits. “It engages their feelings of compassion and desire to help.”
“Help” is the ultimate goal of the Ark. Sartore has worked with more than 500 zoos, aquariums, private facilities and animal rescue centers to introduce visitors to species around the world and focus them on conservation efforts that can help protect them.
