Join The Nature Conservancy at ¡Fiesta for Nature! on Saturday, September 28, from 4 pm – 8 pm at the Great Salt Lake Shorelands Preserve. Your family will spend a beautiful afternoon exploring the nature preserve while enjoying free tacos, arts and activities for kids, and live music. You’ll learn about the amazing birds and butterflies at the Great Salt Lake and celebrate their migration stories—as well as the connections to our own cultural migrations. You can even enter to win prizes! This event is in partnership with: Utah Museum of Fine Arts, Natural History Museum of Utah; Arts de Mexico en Utah; Tracy Aviary; Arte Primero, Outdoor Afro, HECHO, and Play Outside.
Located just 30 minutes from downtown Salt Lake City, near Layton, The Nature Conservancy’s Great Salt Lake Shorelands Preserve is a haven for both wildlife and people. Visitors will explore a stroller-friendly, one-mile loop boardwalk through the wetlands, featuring an open-air pavilion and 30-foot high viewing tower. There are more than 34 educational exhibits throughout the preserve, highlighting fun facts, art, and poetry that teach targeted lessons about the unique Lake system, habitats and spectacular birdlife.
