Cove Mountain Birding


Join Dan Hinnebush, an experienced bird specialist from Wild Birds Unlimited, on a nature hike at our Cove Mountain Preserve. In addition to a guided walk to bird observation areas, participants will learn about using binoculars, identifying local species and other interesting facts about birds.

Note that while this event is appropriate for bird lovers of all ages, participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

About Dan Hinnebusch Dan's passion for birds is built on more than two decades of recreational birding experience and a strong interest in the natural world. He has more than eight years of experience as a professional wildlife biologist and environmental scientist, including four years with Hawk Mountain Sanctuary. Dan teaches classes about birds and ecology for Hawk Mountain and Cedar Crest College. He also participates locally in the Breeding Bird Survey, an annual international count of birds at selected points to monitor changes in bird populations. Dan is also the Store Manager for the Lancaster and Mechanicsburg Wild Birds Unlimited stores.
