Altamaha Trail Hike and Clean Up

Volunteers will clean and maintain the two-mile Altamaha River Trail while on a moderate hike. This fairly flat trail explores the bottomlands along the Altamaha River. Trail maintenance supplies will be provided.

Moody Forest is an irreplaceable, one-of-a-kind treasure. One of the nation's last remaining old-growth forest featuring 200 to 300-year-old longleaf pines and mammoth tupelo cypress more than 600 years old. The forest is also home to rare plants, birds, and animals, including the endangered red-cockaded woodpecker, the gopher tortoise, and the eastern indigo snake.
