2019 Crane Tours

Nebraska

Each year, members of The Nature Conservancy are invited to attend sandhill crane viewing from our private blinds located at our Platte River Prairies.  Sunset tours include a presentation on the cranes beforehand.

Update!   We have now opened additional tour dates for members. (All of our previously published tour dates filled quickly.)

Get in touch with Eliza Perry (eperry@tnc.org) OR (402) 342-0282 x 1012) for details and to register.

Important considerations before signing up:

  • There is up to a half-mile walk to and from the blinds on uneven terrain.  We have limited access to an electric vehicle to transport members and guests with limited mobility, but you MUST let us know of your need at least one week before your tour date.
  • There are no restrooms in the blinds, and all participants must enter and exit as a group (no early exits) to minimize disturbance to the birds.
  • We do not allow children under the age of 12 in our blinds.  Please call Eliza if you have additional questions on this policy: (402) 342-0282 x 1012.
