Overview

Event Overview

Join TNC's Katey Powell on Saturday, May 10, to celebrate the spring migration of birds with a walk at Prairie Border Nature Preserve. Each May, birds come back to Indiana from their winter homes, and Prairie Border enjoys substantial populations of grassland birds species.

You might see bobwhites, herons, woodpeckers, catbirds, Henslow’s sparrows and more on this birding walk.

Additional Detail

  • The terrain is easy and we will be on a natural surface trail that is about 1.5 miles long, though we will likely not walk the entire trail.
  • Youth are welcome to attend with their parents.
  • Wear weather-appropriate layers and good walking shoes.
  • Bring a field guide and binoculars if you have them.
  • Snacks and water provided by TNC.
