Overview
Join TNC's Sanketh Menon and moth expert Jeanette Jaskula from Friends of the Sands for a nighttime walk and moth sheet-lighting on Saturday, May 3, at Douglas Woods Nature Preserve in northeastern Indiana.
While the woods might be dark, the company will be bright and enjoyable. Expect to see mushrooms, fireflies, moths and maybe hear owls, too.
After walking the trail, you'll head to check out a moth sheet and see what species we can discover in honor of National Moth Week.
Additional Details
- The terrain is easy and we will be on a natural surface trail that is about 1.5 miles long, though we will likely not walk the entire trail.
- Youth are welcome to attend with their parents.
- Wear weather-appropriate layers and good walking shoes.
- Snacks and water provided by TNC
