Overview
Led by University of Illinois Springfield’s Therkildsen Field Station at Emiquon and staff from The Nature Conservancy, you’ll sample macroinvertebrates in the wetlands, sort and identify findings under a microscope in the lab, and discover how these tiny creatures help us understand the health of aquatic ecosystems.
This hands-on, half-day program is for high school students and adults. Waders, sampling equipment and lab equipment are provided. Participants must provide their own transportation between the field station and preserve.
