The Conservancy and partners were recently invited to a reception by the Paraguayan Minister of the Environment, Alfredo Molinas, to receive thanks for conservation progress and celebrate one year of accomplishments working together. Milestones included the passage of an unprecedented “Zero Deforestation Law” in highly threatened remnants of the Atlantic Forest; the enlargement and consolidation of several national parks and preserves; and new stricter national controls on freshwater fisheries and wildlife commerce.
