Conservancy Returns Land to Indigenous Group

The Nature Conservancy, together with Colombian conservation and indigenous organizations, purchased a property of nearly 1,000 acres in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta and returned it to a local Arhuaco indigenous group.

This effort — the fourth land purchase of its kind in Colombia — helps protect headwaters that provide water to the Sierra Nevada.
