Mediterranean Habitat
Chile’s Mediterranean habitat stretches 350 miles north to south in a 60-mile-wide slice between the wild Pacific Ocean and the rugged Andes Mountains.
The Humboldt Current, Conservancy scientists believe that increased human use and a dearth of marine protected areas could have serious impacts on marine life throughout the region.
Valdivian Coastal Range About 275,000 acres of what remains intact of the one-million-acre Valdivian Coastal Range are now protected in several sites, including the Valdivian Coastal Reserve.
