Program Help Needed

Wildlife Biology Internship, scientific literature review
The Nature Conservancy is carrying out a spatial (GIS) connectivity analysis for the Moses Coulee Conservation Area, in Douglas and northern Grant counties, to determine how the species of interest (nine birds and mammals) can move through different land cover types. Seeking an ecology or biology student to help review scientific articles regarding wildlife movement.

Intern needs to have access to university libraries. Knowledge of wildlife biology and ecology is critical to search, sort, and select relevant articles, and summarize the key points. Tasks will include searching for appropriate articles, obtaining copies of said articles, and providing an annotated bibliography. Project will take approximately three months to complete.  Please email a resume and cover letter to Sonia Hall at shall@tnc.org. Start date: as soon as possible

Data Volunteer Needed
Help the Conservancy’s Wenatchee office with compiling data from our spotted bat surveys. We seek a volunteer with Access database experience who could help set up a database to track our findings and input the gathered data. Import data to Excel for computations and chart creation. The project could take approximately 12 hours.

A volunteer in the Wenatchee area preferred, but a volunteer could work remotely from home and collaborate with staff by phone and email. Must be highly knowledgeable of MS Office Access and Excel, experienced in database and spreadsheet design and data entry. Need computer with MS Office programs, internet access. Project start date: ASAP. Please contact Liz Johnson at (509) 665-9737 or email liz_johnson@tnc.org
