Thurston County Work Parties

Volunteer

Join us on the prairies and get your hands dirty!

For more information and to sign-up, please contact Caroline Marschner at cmarschner@tnc.org or 360-480-7534.

Second Saturdays
Join us on the prairies the second Saturday of every month for our regular work parties. Prairie enthusiasts work together to remove invasive Scotch broom, plant native flowers and otherwise restore this lovely landscape. Work parties begin at 10 a.m., occasionally followed by a Friends of Puget Prairies meeting and potluck. Please call or write for more info.

Tuesday work group
Every Tuesday, a group of volunteers meets on the South Sound prairies for seed collection, Scotch broom removal, conifer removal, native plant propagation, and other tasks. Some indoor work is available during the winter for those who choose to stay out of the elements. This group does the most varied and involved work of any of the work parties, and they always welcome new people. Bring weather-appropriate clothing, work gloves and a lunch.
