You CAN make a difference!

"We need to attend to our remaining wild places, preserving habitat for native species to flourish... for restoring, recharging, and reconnecting our own souls. I know I can make a difference."
   – Mark G., a Friend in Lacey

About the Friends
The Nature Conservancy works in the public arena to put key lands into protected public ownership and to promote policies in support of science-based conservation. The Conservancy’s members and supporters are important partners in this effort. Recognizing this, we created the Friends of Our Natural Heritage, a group of people who speak up for Washington’s animals and plants and their homes. By educating elected officials and community leaders about the value of our state's natural areas, the Friends are helping to safeguard some of our most ecologically valuable lands.

Friends receive occasional email alerts and updates letting them know about pending decisions affecting Washington's rich diversity of life. They may hear about a local public hearing, a bill in the state Legislature, or a chance to voice support of a nearby natural area. These are great opportunities to get involved right here at home.

Membership in the Friends is free. We do not sell or exchange your information.
