To restore clayplain forests, we first need the trees. Join staff and volunteers throughout the spring, summer and fall for a variety of field activities including planting trees, collecting seeds and tending to the seedlings in our native plant restoration nursery. Native plants perform bestRestoring native forests with native species gives the woods and the animals that live there the best chance of success. Mroe than 20 different species are grown at the Native Plant Restoration Nursery, a partnership with the Poultney-Mettowee Natural Resource Council. There are many choices for you to get outside, have fun and help Vermont's natural environment in any season. Join us for a day on the water or a day in the woods with a range of volunteer opportunities including trail building, controling invasive plants and planting trees.
Volunteer days in the winter are weather dependent, but a great time to join stewardship staff snowshoeing through the woods monitoring boundaries and other activites that continue all year long.
