Time:
10:00am meet at Kent Tavern Musem, in Calais to carpool to the bog, or meet the trip leader at the trailhead to Chickering Bog in East Montpelier. The walk will begin promptly at 10:30am and will last approximately 2 hours.

Overview:
Join The Nature Conservancy on a walk into Chickering Bog, one of Vermont’s special natural places to see and learn about its enchanting orchids, carnivorous pitcher plants and unique history.

Presented in collaboration with Pastoral magazine's 2008 exhibition of art, music and nature. The walk will end at approximately 12:30pm and return to Kent Tavern for refreshments and the exhibition of art, music and nature from 1pm until 5pm.

How to Prepare for the Hike:
The trail is approximately one mile each way, and flat although rough and wet in places. Bring water, wear sturdy walking shoes or boots, and don't forget a camera.
