Date:
Thursday, April 3

Time:
6:30 pm

Overview:
Can you identify forest insects and diseases that are affecting beech, spruce, maple, pine, and oak trees in our woodlands? Will the northward spread of hemlock woolly adelgid threaten our hemlocks? Recent outbreaks of tent caterpillars, weather events affecting tree health and hillsides turning brown have all made the news in the last few years.  Bring your keen observation skills and your questions about what you’ve seen in the woods near you.

Speaker:
Barbara Burns, Forest Resource Protection, Vermont Department of Forests, Parks, and Recreation.
