Texas Fire Management Program 

In 2002, The Nature Conservancy of Texas conducted 18 broadcast prescribed burns for a total of 1,941 acres.  Five additional prescribed burns were conducted on 1,074 acres of non-Conservancy lands.  The Conservancy fire crew also assisted in 24 prescribed burns with other agencies, burning 2,059 acres.  

In 2001, the Conservancy fire crew prescribed burned 1,743 acres across five ecoregions. Five wildfires burned our preserves which covered 3,291 acres.
