Video Highlights: 2008 Conservation Awards

During the Conservancy's recent awards luncheons, hundreds of
participants learned about the Conservancy's work in Texas and
around the world from Texas State Director Laura Huffman and The
Nature Conservancy's lead scientist, M.A. Sanjayan. Participants in
Austin also heard from Lifetime Achievement Award winner George
Bristol, one of the state's leading voices for conservation.

Texas State Director Laura Huffman provides an overview of the
Conservancy's mission in Texas, the scope of our work and why
we love what we do.

Dr. M.A. Sanjayan discusses the importance of protecting the
world's deserts - from the vast expanses of West Texas to the
Namib Desert in Africa, which he recently crossed on foot.
Sanjayan reminds us just how fragile these ecosystems are.

Honoree George Bristol reflects on a lifetime of work on behalf of
conservation in Texas and beyond.
