Congressman Tanner Tours the Hatchie River
Congressman John Tanner tours the Hatchie River in West Tennessee with Gabby Call, Associate State Director of The Nature Conservancy's Tennessee Chapter during a Columbus Day visit. Tanner has worked with the Nature Conservancy to protect the Hatchie from sedimentation and other threats to the river and rich bottomland hardwood forest resources there.
"We have to protect our natural resources for generations to come," Congressman Tanner said. "We have been trying our hardest to take care of the Hatchie River, and organizations like the Nature Conservancy are key to that. The Nature Conservancy has called the Hatchie River ‘one of the 75 last great places on Earth,’ and have been dedicated to protecting it now and in the future."
