Date/Time:
Saturday, May 24, 2008 / 10:30 a.m.

Meet at the Peach Tree Rock parking lot off Hwy 6.  Bring water and wear comfortable hiking shoes.

Overview:
Join Colette DeGarady, TNC Field Ecologist, to look at a unique assemblage of species including sandhill rosemary, sand myrtle, galax, and the rare Raynor’s blueberry among the xeric longleaf and swamp tupelo-evergreen shrub bog communities. There are also remnants of a moonshine still along the trail and amazing geological rock formations carved by the sea millions of years ago. Peach Tree Rock is currently co-managed by The Nature Conservancy and the SC Department of Natural Resources. For more information and directions to Peach Tree Rock visit SCDNR.
